These are the questions that recur in configuration reviews. Each answer is written to be actionable: it names the setting to inspect and the reason the symptom appears. The section is deliberately open — every question and answer is visible on the page, with no collapsed panels to click through.
General ATAS Workspace Questions
What is ATAS used for in this manual's context?
ATAS is treated here as a Windows desktop environment for reading order flow through footprint charts, cluster charts, a depth ladder, and attached modules. The manual documents configuration behavior, not market outcomes.
Does reading this site require anything from me?
No. ClusterView Manual is a static documentation site. Every page is open; there is nothing to unlock and nothing to join. Every page is readable directly.
Is this an official ATAS publication?
No. It is independent technical documentation. The disclaimer at the top of the home page and in every footer states the relationship plainly.
Why does the site avoid certain commercial terms?
The publication is limited to configuration guidance. It does not distribute software or files, and it does not operate a service, so commercial vocabulary would misdescribe what the pages contain.
Chart Configuration Questions
Why does changing ticks per row alter my imbalance marks?
Imbalance is evaluated diagonally against a neighboring row. Changing the row height changes which rows are neighbors, so the comparison set changes. The threshold itself has not moved; the rows it applies to have.
Should a footprint chart and a cluster chart share a session template?
Yes, if they are meant to describe the same session. A mismatch produces different totals and is the most common reason two panels appear to disagree.
What value area share should a profile use?
Seventy percent is the conventional starting point. Adjust only with a documented reason, and record the chosen value in the template name so later comparisons remain valid.
Why are single prints important on a TPO chart?
They mark levels visited by exactly one bracket. Whether they matter analytically is a matter of method; the chart's obligation is to display them consistently.
Depth and Replay Questions
Why does the ladder reorder rows during busy periods?
Row order follows the aggregated resting size when sorting is enabled, and that size changes with every update. Reduce the update rate or disable size sorting if the movement is distracting.
Does replay use the same data as the live chart?
It uses the local store. If the store's coverage differs from the live feed's coverage, replay will show a different range. Check the session template and the store index.
Why does replay appear to skip bars at high speed?
The transport is advancing faster than the renderer can repaint. Lower the multiplier. The stored data is intact; the display is behind.
Can two panels show different clock labels for the same bar?
Yes, when their display time zones differ. The stored timestamps are identical; only the labels change.
Module and Theme Questions
Why is cumulative delta flat during replay?
The module is probably not subscribed to the replay clock, or its reset anchor falls outside the replayed range. Re-attach the module to the chart and confirm the anchor.
Can a module and its chart use different sessions?
Only if the module exposes an independent session anchor. Most modules inherit the chart session by design, which is why the anchor field is the first thing to check.
How many colors should a theme use?
Four groups: neutrals, two directional hues, and one emphasis hue. Additional hues compete for attention and make alerts meaningless.
How do I test a theme for accessibility?
Convert a screenshot to grayscale. If direction or emphasis disappears, the theme relies on hue alone and needs a lightness or shape cue.
Performance Questions
What is the first thing to reduce when charts feel slow?
Visible rows and visible bars. Text layout dominates the cost, and both settings multiply the number of cells on screen.
Will a new graphics card fix a slow footprint chart?
Usually not. Footprint rendering is CPU-bound. A faster processor or a lighter chart configuration will help more.
Why is the first chart of the day slow to open?
The local store index is being read. Pruning old sessions and verifying the index reduces the delay.
Editorial Questions
How are corrections handled?
Send a message through the contact page with the page name and the sentence in question. Corrections are reviewed against the documented behavior and, when accepted, noted in the page's revision line.
Can I republish these pages?
Short quotations with attribution are welcome. Wholesale republication requires written permission. The terms page sets out the details.
Does the site use cookies or analytics?
No analytics, no trackers, and no advertising. The cookie policy explains the single technical storage case and why it does not apply to ordinary reading.
